Lime Square prepares to light up for Christmas

22 November 2018

Lime Square shopping centre in Openshaw, East Manchester is preparing for Christmas this weekend with the centre’s festive Lights Switch On event due to take place on Saturday afternoon (November 24th).

The team at Lime Square have planned an afternoon of music and festive fun with the Christmas display being switched on at 5pm at both Lime Square and along Ashton Old Road.

There will also be a Christmas themed market, festive stilt walkers and face painting to get shoppers in the festive spirit.

Santa will also be making an appearance just in time for the Switch On at 5pm and the Lime Square market will run throughout the day from 10:00am. Live stage entertainment includes The Urbanised Dance Academy, TDS Dance Group, Patelvis, the Salvation Army Band and Break Dance Manchester.

The event will also feature children’s rides and some great food traders as well as lots of great Black Friday Weekend deals.

Jordary Adams, Head of Customer Service and Security at Lime Square, said: “We are really looking forward to the centre’s big switch on this Saturday and we hope everyone will come down and help us celebrate as we get ready for Christmas here at Lime Square.

“We have a great afternoon planned building up to the switch on at 5pm with entertainment through to 6pm.”
The Christmas lights which have been installed along Ashton Old Road have been provided by Manchester City Council and will also be illuminated on Saturday.
