Salvation Army store wins top charity award

The team at the Salvation Army’s store at Lime Square in Openshaw have won a national charity retail award.

The Salvation Army has won the Charity Retail Awards 2018 for Community and Social Impact at a special awards event held in Nottingham on Monday.

 Store Manager Hannah Mistry said “Winning the trophy for the Community and Social Impact category was unexpected but very gladly accepted.

“We were shortlist down to three charities and we came top on the night. All the staff, volunteers and customers have made this happen, we couldn’t have won it without everyone’s help we are thankful to all.”

Head of customer service and security at Lime Jordray Adams said: “We’d like to congratulate the team at the Salvation Army for receiving this really well deserved award – its great news.”
